Andy Grifith (born 1980/1981) is the father of Jenny Grifith and one of the many people injured in the 2019 Holby Market attack.
On 17 August 2019, Andy and Jenny visited Holby Market, and they were both trapped by a coffee van after a terrorist drove a lorry into the marketplace. Once the emergency services arrived, consultant Ethan Hardy concluded that Andy was in greater need of treatment, but Andy insisted on freeing Jenny first as he feared the possibility of a secondary attack. Regardless, concerned about the poor blood circulation in Andy's legs and the structural integrity of the market's walls, Ethan decided to prioritise Andy, and the fire service extracted Andy from under the van. Andy was subsequently taken to Holby City Hospital's emergency department, where he was assured that Jenny would soon join him. Unfortunately, an explosive device detonated at the scene, resulting in Jenny's instant death. Later that day, Ethan visited Andy in HDC and delivered the bad news; Andy berated him for not saving Jenny first and asserted that Ethan would have prioritised her if he knew what it felt like to lose everything he loved.
