Arianne Cornell is a professor of medicine and director of cardiology at St. Eugene's Hospital, London. In January 2018, Connie Beauchamp visited Arianne, who was an old 'friend' of hers, to seek a second opinion on her heart tumour. Although Arianne initially said surgery was too risky, she eventually performed the surgery after Connie passed out in the hotel room.

History

While sitting near Tower Bridge, Connie tells Ethan Hardy that she and Arianne did their cardiothoracic training together and became rivals because of Arianne's brains and good looks. She also hinted that a man was involved, but it remains unknown who. Despite this, Arianne does show genuine concern for Connie's health, which implies it was only a friendly rivalry.

Sara Stewart also portrayed Arianne Cornell in Casualty's sister show Holby City for one episode in 2018 and will appear again for a further 2 episodes in 2019.
