On 21 March 2020, a scene of Adele James portrayed Tina was shown in Casualty's spring trailer, though James was left unidentified. The following month, after filming was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Amanda Mealing posted a photograph on her Instagram account of a Zoom meeting featuring James, the rest of the main and semi-regular cast, executive producer Simon Harper and series producer Loretta Preece.
