Episode 1106 of Casualty is the 14th episode of the show's 33rd series. The episode was directed by Julie Edwards and written by Steve Bailie. The events of this episode take place directly after the previous, which took place in-universe on 24 November.

Synopsis[]

In the aftermath of the crash, Dylan tries to treat all of the casualties, including Joel who has an open fracture. He gives Ciara money for a taxi, and she goes to collect her belongings and wait at his houseboat. At the ED, David treats Dylan's head injury, and Dylan is summoned by Connie to her office, where he tells her that, as Ciara's AA sponsor, it was his responsibility to take her to a place of safety. In resus, Joel expresses his desire to lodge a complaint against Dylan.

Dylan's head injury catches up with him, and he begins to feel the effects of post-concussion syndrome. Rash and David advise him to stay in his cubicle, but he ignores them and confronts Joel in resus. Joel demands to know where Ciara is, but Dylan tells him that they are going to get as far away from him as possible. Furious, Joel tries to attack him, but he immediately collapses and has a seizure. Connie orders David to keep Dylan in the staff room, but Dylan insists on going home to see Ciara.

Dylan arrives at his boat and finds Ciara carrying bags of her clothes and belongings. She tells him that she is going to the airport and asks him to look after Bacchus for her. Ciara promises him that this is not the end, and the two share a kiss before she leaves.

Back at the ED, Jade and Marty treat an attractive male patient named Rufus, and, unsure whether he is gay or straight, they compete with each other to be the first one to get a ticket to their gig at a concert. Eager to win, Jade decides to lock Marty in a storage cupboard, but her plan backfires when she later finds him struggling to breath with an empty inhaler. Once it turns out that Rufus is the vocalist of a gay folk band, they suggesting inviting a patient named Lenny who is already interested in him. After discussing the prospect of dating, Marty talks to Robyn and offers to babysit Charlotte.

Meanwhile, Iain is reminded of the crash when he treats a patient who looks similar to Mia. Ruby expresses her concerns, but he assures her that he will be fine. Later that day, he goes to visit Base at his new house and finds Ross trying to make a deal with him. After forcing him to leave, Iain tells Base that he needs to leave his past life behind him. Elsewhere, Alicia thanks Ethan when he donates a large number of toys to the paeds waiting room.
