"Excess Baggage" is the 24th episode of the 29th series of Casualty. It was preceded by "Something to Live For" and followed by "Toxic Relationships". The episode takes place on the same day as the next episode.
Synopsis
Lily convinces a wife to be honest with her husband that she doesn't want a baby anymore and therefore doesn't want to continue with IVF.
Lily is also dealing with problems of her own as she is exhausted. She faints while treating a patient and falls asleep on the way home from work.
Meanwhile, Dixie gives Iain a verbal warning.
Elsewhere, Rita helps a man change his stubborn attitude after he refuses to tell people that he has a neurological disease as he doesn't want to appear weak. He later purposefully eats something before surgery, which forces the surgeons to postpone.
