Biography
On 14 July 2019, Gail's daughter Primrose shot her brother Ben in the buttock to stop him shooting a sparrowhawk that had been targetting his pigeons, and he fell onto an antenna element which became embedded in his leg. Despite knowing that she was responsible, he decided not to grass on her and walked to Holby City Hospital's emergency department.
When she heard news about her son's shooting, Gail took Primrose to the hospital and demanded to know who shot Ben; both Primrose and porter Rosa Cadenas told her that he would not tell her. She later considered calling the police, but Primrose maintained that it would only exacerbate the situation; Rosa concurred. Gail told her to "keep her nose out" of their business and reported the intrusive behaviour to staff nurse David Hide. With Rosa's encouragement, Rosa admitted her culpability to Gail and consultant Connie Beauchamp, and the former - to both her and Ben's relief - decided to wait until he returned from theatre before confronting the two.
