Template:EpisodeBoxNew "One" is the 1048th episode of Casualty and the 44th episode of the 31st series. It was preceded by "Somewhere Between Silences - Part Two". The episode was directed by Jon Sen and written by Paul Unwin.
It is an episode centring around Lisa "Duffy" Duffin showing two teenage girls around the department.[1]
Although the episode wasn't filmed and aired live, it was filmed in one take, as one hour long scene. Filming took place in April 2017, concluding on the 13th.
The episode was written by Casualty's first ever writer, Paul Unwin who wrote regularly from 1986 until 1993, and then wrote guest episodes in 1999, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016 and now 2017.
It is also Lisa 'Duffy' Duffin's first centric episode since 12 April 2003.
This episode marks the start of Jez Andrew's exit storyline, who will be departing in S32E2.
Synopsis
Duffy has her hands full as she is shadowed by a pair of school-girls planning to enter the medical profession, and Jez is crippled by guilt after he manages to rescue a woman from a house fire, but did not realise he saved her at the expense of her baby. Meanwhile, Ethan throws himself into his work following the incident with Scott, and when the ailing leader of a marching band arrives feeling unwell, Louise is forced to leave him in triage, with disastrous consequences.
