Rhys Bunce (born October/November 2006) is the son of Lauren Riggs and Ian Bunce.
Biography[]
In either October or November 2006, Rhys was born. At some point, his mother Lauren was sectioned following a violent psychotic episode, and Rhys was placed under the care of his father Ian and his grandmother Maureen.
On 15 September 2007, Lauren escaped from the psych unit and climbed through Rhys' window to take him. Maureen ordered Lauren to leave before she alerted the police, but Lauren pushed her into a light fixture and escaped with Rhys. Lauren ran to a nearby construction site to hide from Ian, but she unintentionally asphyxiated Rhys whilst trying to keep him silent and placed him inside a cement mixer.
After Lauren was taken to Holby City Hospital's emergency department for treatment, in the absence of any medical staff, Maureen secretly took a sedated Lauren to the construction site to reveal Rhys' whereabouts. Maureen rushed towards a cement mixer after hearing a baby crying, but her head was hit by an overhanging excavator bucket, knocking her unconscious. Lauren was delighted to find Rhys in perfect health and took him. (CAS: "Meltdown")
