In March 2024, the BBC confirmed that the 40th series of Casualty had been commissioned.[1] An "insider", speaking to The Sun, claimed that the corporation was not planning on recommissioning another series beyond the 40th,[2] but a BBC spokesperson insisted that the show "isn't going anywhere".[1]
